began in 1998 with San Francisco Bay Area jam sessions for participants/alumni of

Oakland California's  Rhythmic Concepts

annual summer camp, Jazz Camp West in La Honda, CA .

Musicians gathered at monthly jam sessions at Joanne's in order to keep the music going,

and it became the "place to be" for jazz aficionados.

These jam sessions eventually developed into professional concerts,

featuring renowned musicians including:

Rebecca Parris, Frank Jackson, Vince Lateano, Jeff Chambers, Brenda Boykin, Denise Perrier,

Kenny Washington, Al Obidinsky, Shanna Carlson, Jackie Ryan, Jason Myers, Seward McCain,

Jeff Pittson, Kim Nalley and Madeline Eastman. 

Upon moving to Las Vegas in 2004,  Joanne has continued to help 

Keep Jazz Alive by providing the highest quality jazz concerts,

featuring the following outstanding musicians:

The Calvin Brooks Quintet, Dehner Franks, Stephanie Haynes,

The Jimmy Wilkins New Life Orchestra.
